Collins Cup vs. Kilburn

Hard luck to the hurlers, who were defeated by Kilburn Gaels on a scoreline of 2-16 to 2-12 in Ruislip. We were made to pay for a very sluggish start as Kilburn raced into a 10 point lead by half-time, helped by a stiff breeze. In the second half we upped the work-rate considerably and enjoyed the bulk of possession as our defence started to supply the type of ball that our forwards needed. Despite scoring two goals and holding Kilburn scoreless for more than 20 minutes though, we left ourselves with too much to do and couldn't close the four point gap by the final whistle. It was a hard-fought encounter which we are sure to learn from as we continue our preparations.
