Robert Emmetts Golf Day 2017 Our annual Golf Classic, held this year at West Middlesex Golf CLub, was a huge success, raising almost £4,000 for the club! We would like to thank all of our sponsors - companies, small businesses and individuals - who gave generously to support us. Your help has given a huge boost to the club and is very much appreciated. A big thank-you to West Middlesex GC for all of their help in preparing the event, ensuring that the course was in fine condition on the day, and for being excellent hosts. After a full afternoon of tense action on the course there were plenty of tired golfers looking for some sustenance. We must thank the Tír Chonaill Gaels Club for hosting us at their clubhouse in Greenford afterwards, providing much-needed food and refreshments! The competition itself was, once again, closely-contested but eventually it was Mark Traynor and his team of Darren McGaughey, Danny Kane and Steve O'Donnell who walked away with the top prize. Close behind in second place overall was Denis Costello's team, followed by Andy McLaughlin's in third. The Longest Drive prize was picked up by Damien Kiely, while the closest-to-the-pin award was claimed by Darren McGaughey, who added another individual award to his team prize. The Robert Emmetts Club is extremely grateful to all who helped in the preparations - arranging players, sponsors and prizes. The event could not have been a success without all of your contributions. Finally, special mention must go to Mark Traynor, who took on the onerous task of organising the entire event, overseeing all aspects from team bookings and sponsorship to ensuring the event ran smoothly on the day. Well done Mark! |
